I was happy to note Well Done Abba's win at the National Awards.
Having watched the movie recently, I have been meaning to write about it.
Well done Abba is a satire on water shortage, and takes us through a rustic landscape (rural Andhra Pradesh) with colorful characters.
The writing is sharp and a fine balance is maintained between the seriousness of the subject and the inherent humour in the situation.
The Hyderabadi dialect adds to the country flavour and makes the movie an enjoyable treat. I am glad to watch cinema that is local in its design and offers a good take on the other India. Peepli Live is another recent movie that scored well on this parameter.
Enough has been said about the performances already. I will only add that Boman Irani brings much hope and happiness to Bollywood. God Bless him.
I was also very happy to watch Rajit Kapur after such a long haul - I have missed him all these years and wish to see more of him.

I so wanted to love this movie but couldn't, I think for some movies home and theater viewing makes lot of difference. (Example Swadesh)
I saw it in a theater and it was slow and boring.
@ATC - I get your point. It does have a slow start. In fact, an interesting trivia here - one of the best Bollywood comedies - Andaz Apna Apna was declared a flop and didn't complete even a week in theatres!
About Swades - I had seen it in theatre, on the second day after release... I loved it..
I havnt seen this one till nw.. bt after seeing ur review, i guess i shud hav a look..
Ys peepli live i watched, one of the refreshing movies of this yr...
