"When we were young kids growing up in America, we were
Told to eat our vegetables at dinner and not leave them.
Mothers said, think of the starving children in India
And finish the dinner.'
And now I tell my children:
'Finish your homework. Think of the children in India
Who would make you starve, if you don't!

If they have that impression then they are probably right. More than 45% of children in India are malnourished. Large proportion of Indian schools dont have a single teacher. They dont have buildings and in many schools a single teacher teaches first grade to tenth grade.
What Tom says is true about children in metros and other big cities..
@Devil & India unbound - True. The thought by Thomas is encouraging and hopeful. But we have a long way to go before we truly become successful and our kids - become healthy and smart enough to meet global challenges...
